Speaking in Tongues – Wedding Style!

I’m actually not physically posting this now because I’m at my wedding… but I’m scheduling it ahead of time because it’s very fitting considering I’m getting married today! This one is absolutely hilarious:

If you’re wondering why I haven’t posted in a while, please scroll down to see my previous post.

A Great Sermon by “Joel Osteen”

This is super hilarious. I don’t really know why. Maybe I’ve got a weird sense of humor, maybe this guy’s voice is just that good, or maybe gibberish really is that amusing. In all honesty, it would be better if Joel said stuff like this instead of preaching his false Gospel.

(Thanks to Travis for sending me this.)

Jesus statue destroyed by lightning

Is it any surprise that God apparently struck down this icon? $250,000 spent on a statue of Jesus, when we have absolutely no idea what Jesus looked like anyway? How determined is this church to waste God’s money? And they’re going to rebuild it? Even bigger? C’mon — take a message from God!

Emperor Palpatine’s Charismatic Gifts

Okay, I don’t know if everyone will appreciate this one, but if not, it’s only about fifteen seconds so you can’t complain. And that’s how I can get away with posting something so completely lacking anything edifying. But it really made me laugh. Maybe it’s because of how poorly made the video is. Maybe it’s because of how absurd Mr. Hinn and his understanding of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is. Or maybe it’s just because I think everything is funny.

You want something edifying about the Holy Spirit? Check this out.

Colby the Computer

Today’s post actually reminds me (vaguely) of my childhood.  I’m sure that my dad, at least, remembers Colby the Computer from Colby’s Clubhouse, a show that began airing in 1987.  The great acting alone makes (the first few minutes) worth watching!

On a more serious note, while stuff like this may not be detrimental to Christians, it is unfortunate that many people seem to think that if their kids watch shows like this they will be Biblically educated.  Wouldn’t it be so much better if parents personally took the time to teach the Bible to their kids?

Thanks to my camp buddy Ben Thompson for sending this to me.

A Worship Leader’s Nightmare

This one is pretty enjoyable.  There’s no audio on this one.

Biblical, Polygamous Dating

Okay, this guy actually “evangelizes” out at my University (which I’m graduating from in June!). He’s one of the guys who holds up a sign that says, “Questions about the Bible? I’ll try to answer.” Oh, dear. We need some Christians out there who can clarify and make up for the damage he does. He’s a unitarian and so he doesn’t believe Jesus is God (he explained to me that Jesus is just the ‘phone’ we use to talk to God), he believes that polygamy is just as legitimate as monogamy (as you’ll see in this video), and he believes that the unforgivable sin is to refuse to believe anything in the Bible. I suppose that last one is the closest to the truth — if you deny your sin, you will deny your need for a Savior.  Anyway, this is probably one of the most asinine videos he’s posted. It’s about his first polygamous date with him and his wife and another woman. I think this video alone can help to show the utter foolishness of polygyny:

I mean, seriously, what kind of person do you think is going to want to be part of a polygamous relationship? Did this girl that they went on a date with even have a clue what she had gotten herself into?  Maybe she just desperately needed someone to talk to, to give her counsel.  Maybe “the heretic” (his own title for himself) didn’t really make his intentions clear.  Insanity.  What if this woman he’s talking about sees this video?

Sunday Morning: Sure to be a hit!

I’ve been seeing this one all over the place now, but it’s too good to let you possibly miss out on.  Does your church look anything like this?

7 Year Old Preacher

There are a lot of things that bothered me in this video… but I’m interested in hearing other peoples’ thoughts. Please do share.

Der Christian Side Hug!

The commentary is a little goofy (meaning they could have done better & made funnier commentary), but I like the fact that they skip the choruses after the first one and they posted the lyrics. Plus, I think this is the least profane version of this song. Oh, Christianity today…
